Barbara Berge

Barbara (Sprague) Berge, 85, of Covington, IN passed away with family by her side at Waters of Covington on Saturday April 23, 2016. Barbara was born the daughter of Oscar and Elsie (Kalk) Sprague on June 17, 1930 in Murdock, IL. Barbara married Phillip Berge on February 18, 1974 at Northland Christian Church in Danville, he survives. Also surviving Barbara are her three children Gary (Marla) Watson of Danville, Tim (Yvonne Rome) Watson of Houma, Louisiana, and Ellen (Glover) Howie of Danville, five grandchildren; Ryan Watson, Aaron (Rachel) Watson, Phillip (Anne) Watson, Karolina Howie and Samuel Howie, two great grandchildren; Aubren and Otis Watson, one brother Gerald (Beverley) Sprague and one sister-in-law Deloris Sprague. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Merle Watson, one brother James Sprague, one sister Donita Green and a grandchild. Barbara was a giver. After she retired from the VA as a seamstress, she touched many lives by volunteering at the VA and her local nursing home, helping the Danville Area visually impaired, preparing taxes, running a resale shop at the Covington Senior Center, driving fellow seniors wherever they needed to go, hosting and finding host families for foreign exchange students and sewing and crocheting for her friends and family. She believed in living out her faith and in her final years enjoyed attending the Covington Nazarene Church. A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 11am (ctz) for family and close friends at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville.
