Barbara Ann Snapp

Barbara Ann Snapp, 77, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 7:08am, Monday, December 23, 2019 at The Loft Rehab & Nursing Home in Eureka, IL. She was born on December 16, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Wayne and Hazel Wilma {Onley} Holtsclaw, both deceased. On June 21, 1964, Barbara was united in marriage to Eugene Gilbert Snapp, Jr. at the Georgetown Friends Church, until his passing on May 25, 2019.

Barbara will be dearly missed by: her sons, Eugene Gilbert "Rusty" (Delynn) Snapp III of Georgetown and Wayne Daniel (Barb Wesley) Snapp of Bellville, IL; her daughter, Bethany Lynn (Daniel) Hurn of Metamora, IL; her fourteen grandchildren; and her 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Addison Dailey.

Barbara was an excellent dancer and graduated 3rd in her class at Danville High School. She was a registered nurse for several years before obtaining her BSN in the 1990s. She worked in health care for 44 years. Many of those years were at Danville Care Center where she served as a registered nurse, assistant director of nursing, director of nursing and administrator. She retired from the Danville Veterans Administration in 2004. She was a member of the Georgetown Friends Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, playing games, reading and watching movies.

A celebration of Barbaras life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor Garry Geer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to the Georgetown Friends Church.
