Barbara Ann Armstrong

Urbana - Barbara Ann Armstrong, 69, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born on June 8, 1948 to Albert and Nora Hurdle in Champaign, IL. Barbara is survived by her significant other David "Sam" Samet; daughters Kimberly Armstrong and Amy Armstrong; grandchildren Austin, Kyle, and Amysia; great-granddaughter Lienna; sister Shirley Brown; and her dog Bear. She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, and taking care of her dog. She was employed at the University of Illinois for 37 years, and retired from the Computer Science Department. Cremation rites have been allotted to Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL 61820. Memorial donations may be made in Barbara's name to Champaign County Humane Society.
