Barbara Anderson

Barbara E. Anderson, 83, of Danville, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, April 26th, 2012 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Barbara was born on May 8th, 1928, in Homer, Illinois, the daughter of Edgar J. and Nellie M. (Yeazel) Anderson. She is survived by her two brothers- Forrest (Carolyn) Anderson of Danville, and Don (Gayle) Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters- Jean (Jim) Murray of Rantoul, Shirley Kelley of St. Joseph, Illinois, Judith (Henry) Dunn of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Karen (Ken) Currier of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law- Joyce Anderson of Danville; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- Larry Anderson, brother-in-law- Don Kelley and a nephew- Richard Anderson. Barbara graduated from Homer High School and attended Illinois Commercial College. She worked as a legal secretary for law firms in Danville and Champaign. Barbara was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Barbara loved spending time with her family. A Celebration of the life of Barbara E. Anderson was held on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial was in GAR Cemetery in Homer, Illinois.
