Barbara Ann Coffing of Covington, Indiana passed away on July 18, 2010. She was born August 28, 1930 in Silverwood, Indiana, the daughter of the late Norval and Daisy Curtis. She was married on October 25, 1948 to Bob Coffing who survives. She is also survived by eight children, Vickie(Jim)McCormick, Sherry(Steve)Adams, Mike(Leslie)Coffing, Jeff(Susan)Coffing, Todd Coffing, Lori(David)Campbell, Curt Coffing, and Jennifer(Mike)Summers, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dean Curtis. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Beverly Jones, and Mrs. Genevieve Clingan, a brother, Mr. Luther Melton, and infant child. Barbara was a devoted and loving mother who was happiest when surrounded by her family. A caring, creative soul, she had an infectious sense of humor and always welcomed an opportunity to share laughter with her friends and family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music. She was a graduate of Cayuga High School, member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star (Yeddo Chapter). In addition she was a longtime member of the West Liberty Church of Christ. A celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m. EDT Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the West Liberty Church of Christ, 2806 West State Road 32, Covington, Indiana. The Rev. Duane L. Mycroft will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the church. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Hanging Rock Christian Camp, P.O. Box 218, West Lebanon, Indiana 47991. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
