Danville - Barbara A. Boyd, 68, of Danville passed away at 11:25 AM on Friday, May 23, 2014 at her home. She was born on April 30, 1946 in Danville to Donald A. and Rita M. (Kramer) Stack. She married Terry C. Boyd on August 4, 2006 in Danville. He survives. She is also survived by four children, Mark (Shelly Klein-Smith) Smith, Michelle (Tom) Zubik, Eric (Yvonne) Smith, and David (Stacey) Smith; two step-sons, Jason (Mandy) Boyd and Joshua (Christine) Boyd; six brothers, Joseph (Shirley) Stack, Dennis (Patty) Stack, John (Judy) Stack, Jerome Stack, Stanley (Sharon) Stack, and Thomas (Bridget) Stack; three sisters, Margaret Bedard, Theresa Oldham, and Mary Stack; and sixteen grandchildren, Noah, Olivia and Hannah Smith, Michael, Rachel, Ethan and Aaron Zubik, Adam, Natalie, and Nicole Smith, Jordan and Brixton Smith, Kennedy, Zoe, and Brody Boyd, and Kylah Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Mark, a sister Donna, and her second husband, Ralph “Dean” Good. Barbara was a 1964 graduate of Schlarman High School, was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church, and of the K of C. She had worked as a dispatcher for the fire and police departments and retired from city hall as a secretary. She also volunteered through Faith in Action. Barbara enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening, but her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Boyd will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Father Steven Loftus will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, May 27 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 PM prior to the visitation. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
