Covington - Dianne VanEtta, 84, of Covington, Indiana peacefully passed away at Union Hospital at 12:16pm, Thursday, July 9, surrounded by family.

Dianne was born October 13, 1941, to Virdin Chase “Archie” and H. LouElla LaMonte in Farmers City, Illinois. She was proceeded in death by her parents, and James L. VanEtta (husband), and sister Delores Stillwell, Darrell “Monte” LaMonte (brother), and Denny LaMonte (brother).

Dianne is survived by son James D. VanEtta (Donna VanEtta) and daughter Vickee D. VanEtta. She is also survived by grandchildren Bridgette VanEtta (Mark Bolser), Wesley VanEtta, Stuart VanEtta, Tony VanEtta, and Casie High (Eric High). She has eight great grandchildren Dylan VanEtta, Adisen VanEtta, Morgan VanEtta, Maddie VanEtta, Macey VanEtta, Avery High, Greyson High, and Nova VanEtta.

Dianne was a proud member of the Badoura Daughters of the Nile Pageantry and the Eastern Star. She cherished traveling with her friends from the Nile and especially treasured her time as Queen Pixie, a role that brought her immense joy. She had a special love for butterflies, especially the Monarch butterfly, which beautifully symbolizes the grace, strength, and enduring place she holds within her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating treasured memories through family traditions like Christmas celebrations and Easter egg hunts. Dianne was known for her gentle, soothing voice—a voice that brought comfort to so many and one that will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was a friend to all, welcoming others with warmth, kindness, and compassion. Dianne VanEtta will be remembered with love, cherished always by her family and all whose lives she touched.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Badoura Temple Daughters of the Nile in Terrehaute, Indiana. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
