Avery M. Potts 93 of Tilton passed away at 2:40 A.M. Tuesday December 13, 2005 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 10, 1912 in Gary, TX the son of Isaac L. and Addie R. Brown Potts. He married Dortha Willoughby in August of 1934 in Danville she preceded him in November of 1989. Surviving: one son, Ronald Potts of Danville; a daughter, Anita Livengood of Tilton; three grandchildren, Michael (Linda) Livengood of Danville; Stephen (Sandy) Livengood of Waterloo, IL, Alan (Robin) Potts of Northport, Fl; three great-grandchildren, Timothy (Stacie) Livengood of Brookville, FL, Scott (Elizabeth) Livengood of Effingham, John (Kerrith) Livengood of Pittsburg, PA; two great-great-grandchildren Abigail Livengood of Brookville, FL, Samantha Livengood of Effingham. His parents, one son Avery Gene, grandson Kevin Livengood and a son-in-law Rev. H.B. Livengood preceded him in death. Avery retired in 1974 as a semi-truck driver with T.M.X. Transport in Danville. He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1930 to 1934. Avery was a member of the Evangelical Church in Danville; every time the church doors were open he would be there. Also a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed Working with carpenter tools and building things. He also enjoyed working word search and Jigsaw puzzles.
