Ava Marie Cohoon, 63, of Covington, passed away at 10:40 am on October 26, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Hospital. Ava was born December 4, 1949, in Odon, Indiana, the daughter of Augustus Lincoln and Mary Ruth (Guire) Hall. Ava is survived by her three loving children, John Matthew Cohoon, Sharon Adams and Mary Ellen (Michael) Greenburg; 8 grandchildren, Douglas, Christian, Anna, Ian, Aubrey, Marissa, Janet and Theodore; a special nephew, Mason Quick; a half-brother, Thomas Hall; one sister, Thelma (David) Bushong; special sisters, Patricia Cohoon, Janet Harper and Jane Cline; a multitude of nieces and nephews and best friends, Bonnie Lazzell and Jeri Nale. Ava was preceded in death by her parents; special sisters, Barbara Binkley and Donna Sue Cohoon and grandmother, Jesse Guire. She was an avid genealogist. Ava was a Registered Nurse and worked in Cardiology for many years before she began a home health care career 15 years ago for families of Illinois and Indiana. She enjoyed spending her time playing with her loving dog, Toby; the outdoors and scrapbooking on her computer. Ava was a member of 2nd Church of Christ in Danville. Visitation for Ava will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Chapel, Georgetown. A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013, 2013 at the funeral chapel with Rev. Drew Mentzer officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Whitestar Home Health Agency, who generously donated their services, to a colleague, in her last days.
