Aurelio Buyco, of Danville, formerly of the Philippines, passed away at 5:04 AM on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville,Illinois. Aurelio was born on October 11, 1917 in Anilao, Iloilo Philippines the son of Mariano Sitchon and Presentacion Araniego Buyco. He married Carmen J. Sandoval on April 27, 1942 in Anilao, Iloilo. She preceded him in death in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Elsie L. Javellana, six sons-Emmanuel (Zenaida) Buyco, Alexander (Emelyn) Buyco, Arthur (Ponciana) Buyco, Napoleon (Eva Teresa) Buyco, Charlemagne (Helen) Buyco, Solomon (Marylou) Buyco, three daughters-Elnora (Ruben) Abucay, Mary Ann (Cesar) Cagas, Cynthia (Leslie) Martin, twenty-eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Aurelio received his Bachelor's degree in commerce from General Santos City. He was a member of the USPhil Army in World War II. He loved reading, playing Mahjong, yoga, reflexology, being a vegetarian and exercising. He was a bank manager and real estate appraiser in the Philippines where he retired in 1982. The Buyco family extends their gratitude to the 3West and 4West Nurses at Provena Hospital, Dr. Malhotra, Dr. Thengavalu, The Veteran's Hospital Staff, and the Filipino Danville Community. A Celebration of Aurelio's Life will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville with Fr. Greg Nelson officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
