Augustine Wilkis

Augustine Wilkis, 93 of Westville passed away at 4:55 pm Saturday June 5, 2004 at Christian Hospital North East in Bellefontaine, MO. Augustine was born December 19, 1910 in Westville the daughter of the late Albert and Antoinette (Strain) Alm. Augustine married John P. Wilkis June 17, 1930 in Newport, IN and he preceded her in death. Survivors include 1 son Alan (Louise) Wilkis of Florissant, MO. 1 sister Alma Sossich of Bensalem, PA. 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandsons. 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded Augustine in death. Augustine attended Westville schools. During WWII she worked at Hicks laundry for Chanute Air Force base and worked as a presser for Rissman and Windbreaker in Danville. Augustine was a member of AARP # 1256, and Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Augustine enjoyed flowers, quilting, knitting crocheting and home making. Augustine did voulenteer work at Trinity Church in Westville, sewing.
