Audrey Witherspoon

Audrey Witherspoon, 96, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:06am, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born the daughter of Benjamin and Lillie {Smith} Miller in Horse Cave, Kentucky, on January 15, 1921. She was united in marriage to Roy Witherspoon in Horse Cave until his passing on March 10, 1961. Audrey was the Matriarch of her family. She cared for everyone and enjoyed making food for the kids to eat and gardening. She loved being surrounded by her family and visiting with friends as well. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by: her children, Audrey Allison of Georgetown, Cindy Allison of Georgetown, Virginia Mayo of Georgetown, & Don (Lisa) Witherspoon of Hartselle, AL; her daughters-in-law, Kate Witherspoon of Ridge Farm & Debbie Witherspoon of Danville; her sister, Fannie Reed Fulks of Cave City, KY; her 19 grandchildren; her 32 great grandchildren; and her 10 great-great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her children, Gloria Faye Collins, JacQuita Craft, Kenneth Witherspoon, Ronnie "Spoon" Witherspoon, & Michael David Witherspoon; three sisters; and one brother. A celebration of Audrey's life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor Jean Rumple. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
