Audrey Rose Baker

Audrey Rose (Gilliland) Baker, 92, of Oakwood, passed away at 6:45am Tuesday August 8, 2017. Audrey was born in Catlin on August 23, 1924 the daughter of John and Anna Gilliland. On April 6, 1947 Audrey married the love of her life Robert F. Baker and they spent many years together before his passing. Audrey is survived by her daughter Sheri Sproul; two sons, Robin D. Baker, Kenneth A. Baker; brother, Lawrence Gilliland of Georgetown; sister, Dorothy Dow of Memphis TN, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven siblings. Audrey was a graduate of Catlin High school class of 1942. She attended the First Evangelical Methodist Church where she was treasurer as well as a Sunday school teacher. Audrey loved her family and she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by all who have met her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Friday August 11, 2017 at Sunset's Oakwood Funeral Chapel 105 E. South Main St. in Oakwood. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Friday August 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Audrey's name to the First Evangelical Methodist Church in Oakwood.
