Audrey {Jordan} Miller

Audrey (Jordan) Miller, 89, of Indianola, IL, passed away at 9:30 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. She was born on May 23, 1920, in Warren County, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Lucas) Brandenburg, both deceased. She was united in marriage to John Jordan in 1940 until his death in 1958. She later married James A. Miller on October 21, 1961, in Jamaica, IL, until his passing on January 11, 1991. Those who will miss Audrey include: her children, John David (Charlotte) Jordan of Owasso, OK, Arthur (Valerie) Jordan of Charleston, TN, Roy Michael (Peggy) Jordan of Maiden, NC, William (Becky) Miller of Indianola, IL, Barbara Gail Pereira of Winslow, AK, JoAnne (Roy) Johnston of Indianola, Rhonda (Hal) Doyle of Henderson, NV, Janet (Jeff) Poynter of Paris, IL, & Joyce (Theo) York of Palestine, IL; her seventeen grandchildren; her fifteen great grandchildren: and her several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: two infant daughters; one brother, Charles Brandenburg; and two sisters, Laura Bahrns & Musetta Taylor. Audrey was a homemaker who enjoyed tending her flower & vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed mowing her lawn and other outdoor activities. She was well known for her cooking and used to can her homegrown vegetables. She was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown. Audrey especially loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. She found it rewarding to be a volunteer for Hospice. A celebration of Audreys life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Pastors Gerald McPhillips & Ray Silvers officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm before the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. Memorial
