Arwilda M. Long

Cayuga, Ind. -- Arwilda M. Long, 67, a former resident of Alvin, Illinois, a summer resident of Cayuga, Indiana and a winter resident of Cross City, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, December 17, 2008 at her residence in Cross City, Florida. She was born October 7, 1941 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy Barrett Mikel. She married Bobby Ray Long, Sr. on March 15, 1958 in Tilton, Illinois. He survives. Other survivors include: one son, Bobby(Janlynn)Long, Jr. of Danville, Illinois; daughter, Loretta(Bruce)West of Cayuga, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lanee-Brooke; Mazee-Rae; Beau-Ashton and Kylee Beth. Arwilda was a former member of the Fairmont Baptist Church. She attended Danville High School. Arwilda was a devoted wife for 50 years and a dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with friends, playing board games and cards, cooking, bowling, country music and watching her favorite driver in NASCAR Jeff Gordon. Services: 2 p.m. EST Monday, December 22, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Scott McCurdy; Visitation: Monday, December 22, 2008 from Noon EST till time of services at the funeral home. A private family burial will be in Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana. The family request memorials be made to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
