Artina Cook

Artina Mae (York) Cook, 76, passed from this life and joined her loved ones in the presence of the Lord at 9:32 PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Artina was born January 5, 1931 to Hazel Belle (Boile) and Arthur York. She attended Diamond grade school and Danville High. On March 14, 1964 she married he beloved husband Vern Cook who survives. Also surviving is her son Charles Lee Hagan, Daughter Edwina Sue Hagan, and Stepdaughter Charlene Berkley. Three grandsons: Scott, Chuck, and Chad Hagan. Four step grandchildren: Rick, Harold, and Diane Loschen and Rob Wieser. Sisters: Mary (Rex) Kibler, Charlotte (Dean) Noble, Linda Swaney and sister in law Sharon York. She had several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived be her dear friend Helen Spikes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Arthur York, two sons: Larry and Johnny, daughter Artina Kay, a nephew, two great nephews and a great niece all of whom she is sharing the beauty of Heaven with at this moment. Artina enjoyed camping, crocheting, eating out, her dogs, her family & friends. She made a rockin potato salad for the family dinners that she loved, and was the person that was always there through thick and thin. If anyone needed anything Artina was ready to help. Those whom have had the pleasure of having her grace their lives loved her dearly and will miss her very much. A Celebration of Artinas Life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 27, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville.
