Cayuga, Ind. - Artice A. Williams, 93, of Cayuga, passed away at 3:10 p.m. EST Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1920 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Andrew and Virginia Busby Martin. She married Bernard L. Williams on August 15, 1955 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda(Steve)Robertson and Cheryl Williams both of Cayuga, Indiana; one son, Dennis(Linda)Smith of Merrysville, Michigan; one stepson, Bill Williams of Danville, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Betty Melvin of Danville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Guilliams and stepdaughter, Shirley Craft. Artice was a homemaker. She formerly worked at General Electric and Montgomery Ward, both in Danville, Illinois and Olins, west of Covington, Indiana. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church and Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 (Past Chaplain). She was a 1938 graduate of Danville High School. Artice enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EST Thursday, December 19, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Steve Vitaniemi and Keith Warner; Burial: Prairie Township Chapel Cemetery near Scotland, Illinois; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the funeral home with memorial services by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary at 7:30 p.m. EST. Family request that contributions be made to the Cayuga Christian Church, PO Box 731, Cayuga, Indiana 47928-0731.
