Arthur R. Auter, Jr.

Arthur R. Auter, Jr. of Danville passed away on April 13, 2023 at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home in Chrisman. He was 68. Art was born February 7, 1955 in Danville to parents Mabel and Arthur Auter, Sr. He attended Danville High School and worked as a machinist for many years at Midwest Electric until his retirement. He lived in the same house his entire life, which was thankfully not too far from his favorite donut place. He enjoyed woodworking in his younger years and always had a fondness for trains. He could carry a conversation and enjoyed gardening.

Art is survived by his sister Kathy (Bill) Moran of Danville and his sister-in-law Sandy Auter of Rossville. He also leaves behind nephews Alan J. "AJ" (Adrienne) Auter of Rossville, Todd Moran of Danville, and Scott (Becky) Moran of Yorkville; and great-niece Emily Moran. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alan Auter.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 1- 2 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm. Pastor Randall Robinson will be officiating. Art will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
