Arthur 'Pete' Haught

Arthur Harold Pete Haught, age 93, of Lely Palm in Naples, FL. passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 8:40 pm at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born February 1, 1913 in Middlebourne, West Virginia to Harvey and Mary F. (Bickerstaff) Haught. He graduated from Tyler County High School and the University of West Virginia with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Elizabeth Brinks Betty Morris and that marriage ended with her death in 1985. Pete was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Peg Lanham, his step daughter: Diana (Dick) Jameson of Oakwood, IL and by three sisters and one brother. Pete worked as a designer and draftsman with the Celanese Company of America in Cumberland, Maryland. He also worked for West Virginia Pulp and Paper Mill (Westvaco) in Luke, Maryland. He served in WWII with Company D of the 331st Infantry all through France, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium campaigns. He was awarded a battlefield commission as a Second Lieutenant and was also a Major in the Army Reserves. During the Depression, he served time in the Civil Conservation Corps and was a Mason.
