Arnold E. Pruitt

Arnold E. Pruitt, 73, of Bismarck, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1951, in Danville, Illinois, son of the late Fred and Margie (Parsons) Pruitt

Arnold married Billie Drake on May 17, 1986, in Danville, Illinois, and she survives.

Surviving along with his wife are his sons: Shannon (Denise) Pruitt and Shane (Julie) Pruitt; his step-daughter: Teresa Sroufek; his stepson: Darren (Sheila) Beninati; his brothers: James Cross, Guy Pitchford and Freddie Pruitt; his sisters: Jody Pryle and Michelle Davis; his grandchildren: Jared (Victoria) Pruitt, Caitlin Pruitt, Jaylee and Kodiac Pruitt, Emily Pruitt, Synthia Pruitt, Kristian (Michael) Bray; and his great-grandchildren: Kaszhton Stone, Kendra and Kylee Bray.

Along with his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his brothers: Gary Pruitt, Vernon "Butch" Cross, Ronnie Pruitt; and his sisters: Penny Johnson and Tina Worthington.

Arnold worked for General Motors for several years before the plant shut down. He later went on to work at ThyssenKrupp for a short amount of time before retiring. Arnold loved spending time with his family and enjoyed "family poker" nights with those closest to him. In his spare time, Arnold also loved playing the guitar, fishing, woodworking, horseshoes, playing bingo and metal detecting.

A Celebration of Life for Arnold will be held at 10AM on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5PM-7PM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the funeral home in Danville.
