Arnold Blair

Champaign Arnold "Arnie" Blair, 74, lost his 8 month battle with Melanoma cancer on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign, IL. He was born on November 17, 1944 in Flora, IL to Wendell and Julia (Powell) Blair. They precede him in death. Arnie married Nancy Harrison, his wife of 53 years, on April 23, 1966 in Des Plaines, IL.

Arnie is survived by his wife; children Geoffrey Blair, Robert (Noreen) Blair, and Jason (Nikki) Blair; grandchildren Jordan and Ashley Blair; siblings Leslie Blair, Byron (Diana) Blair, and Susan (Jim) Ferris.

Arnie was raised in Paris, IL and graduated from Paris High School in 1966. He then attended Millikin University in Decatur, IL where he received his bachelors degree in accounting. He then acquired his CPA certification in 1969 and worked as a CPA until his retirement in 2009. Arnie was a member of the International Churches of Christ in Charleston, Chicago, and Champaign, IL. He served in various roles in each congregation. Arnie enjoyed playing golf and reading political mysteries. He was also a mentor for eight years for the Champaign School District. Most of all, Arnie enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Services will be held at Champaign Church of Christ, 1509 W. John St., Champaign, IL 61821. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Service will follow at 1pm.
