Arlene Neal, 81, of Danville passed away at 3:20 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 peacefully at her home beside her loving family and friends. Arlene was born on May 1, 1931 in Danville, the daughter of Lawrence and Effie (Nier) Ray. She married Charles E. Neal Sr. on May 30, 1948 in Danville. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1969. She is survived by two sons- Charles E. (Marie) Neal Jr. of Tilton, Todd Eric (Zina) Neal of Georgetown, one daughter- Charlene Brewer of Danville, three grandchildren- Traci (Roy) Amos of Danville, Cindy (Dale) Juvinall of Georgetown and Coleman Neal of Georgetown, four great-grandchildren- Clayton Brewer, Colin Amos, Dylan Neal and one due in December, one special sister-in-law- Rose Ray, two very special nieces- Nancy Vaughn and Phyllis Vecellio and her cat Oscar. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Terry Neal, three brothers- Lester Ray, Norlyn Ray, Buster Ray and four sisters- Juanita Richards, Helen Stovall, Lavaughn Stuebe and Ruby Ray. Arlene worked at ATI for 25 years then went to work for Peterson's for 13 years before retiring. She loved crossword puzzles, playing with her cat, eating Chinese, country music and being with her family. A celebration of Arlene's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor Bill Wiggins officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
