Covington, Ind. - Arguel Mikel Kiger, 65, of Covington, passed away at 3:14 p.m. CDT Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was born December 13, 1948 in Parke County, Indiana, the son of the late Cloyd and Reilla June Swank Kiger. He married Gretalee Osborne on December 23, 1972 in Parke County, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Goldie Clendenny of Covington, Indiana; Mikel(Debra)Kiger of Kingman, Indiana and Shannon(Penny Freed)Kiger of Covington, Indiana; five grandchildren, David James Bush; Kaylee June Bush; Cierra Shawtel Carpenter; Sarah Jo Livingston and Lindsey Nichole Freed and several sisters and brothers. Arguel was preceded in death by one sister, Dori and two brothers, Wilber and Eddie Kiger. Arguel was a laborer. He was currently a member of the Spirit of Life Church in Kingman, Indiana and attended the Assembly of God Church in Cayuga, Indiana. Arguel enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards, singing, shooting, camping and attending church. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and playing practical jokes on his grandchildren. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, October 23, 2014 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Micheal Trusty; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Thursday, October 23, 2014 until time of services at the funeral home. The family request contributions to the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center Cancer Center, 812 North Logan Avenue, Danville, Illinois 61832.
