Ara T. Melikyan

Ara T. Melikyan Ara T. Melikyan, 65, of Hoopeston, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his home and was pronounced dead at 7:41p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Ara was born on July 31, 1944 in Istanbul, Turkey to Dikran and Anahit Melikyan and brother to Arman Melikyan, former CEO and co-owner of DynaChem, Inc. in Georgetown and co-owner and co-founder of EnvirOx LLC in Danville. He and his mother came to the U. S. in 1998 and resided with his brothers family for the last 12 years. Ara loved the U. S. and became a permanent resident in 2008. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and like his brother and father, loved sports, especially European futbol (soccer). He is survived by his sister-in-law, Rebecca Melikyan of Hoopeston; three nieces- Briana Melikyan of Hoopeston, Christina Melikyan of Danville, Annette (Joey) Molino of Paramus, New Jersey, and nephew Armand Melikyan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and four great-nieces and nephews- Armon Bryant, Alexander Baszis, and Nicole and Rachel Molino. A Celebration of Life service for Ara will be held at 3:00p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private visitation for family and close friends will be from 1:00-2:00 and a public viewing from 2:00-3:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
