Anthony 'Tony' D. Broderick

Danville Anthony "Tony" David Broderick, 72, of Danville, passed away at 4:29 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Villas of Hollybrook in Danville. He was born August 27, 1951 in Morris, IL to James Anthony and Mary Jane (Fraley) Broderick. They both preceded him in death.

He is survived by two children, Anthony (Ann) Broderick, Jr., of Bartlett, IL, and Angela (Seth) Carey of Wheaton, IL; two grandchildren, Ethan and Levi Carey and a step-grandson, Gavin Brooks; and special friends, Barb Pilkington, Kole McKellan, Robin Pilkington, Vickie Mowery, and Dee Knight.

Tony was a pharmacist and worked for CVS Pharmacy in Danville for many years until his retirement in 2016. He loved music and was a big fan of Bob Dylan. Tony could often be found playing guitar or writing poetry. However, his favorite pastime was sitting on his back porch where he would feed the raccoons that frequented his home.

A service to celebrate the life of Tony Broderick will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Cremation rites will follow the services. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Saturday prior to the service, also at Sunset in Danville.
