Mr. Anthony Lamar Tillman aka "Tony" 46, of Champaign passed away peacefully Friday, March 19, 2021, at St Francis Hospital, Peoria, Illinois. Tony Tillman was born in Urbana, Il on March 17, 1975 to Carole Ann Drake-Carradine and Tony Lane Tillman. He grew up in Rantoul but as a child of military parents, Tony was able to travel with his family throughout Europe and across the United States. Tony obtained his high school diploma in Fort Lee, VA and eventually he settled back in Champaign as an adult. Tony worked for the Developmental Service Center for over 15 years, he was praised as a pure bright spot. He was always eager to help and be of service to all that he was around.
Tony had two favorite things, a love of sports and a love of chicken wings. He was a season ticket holder for the Fighting Illini football team and attended as many games as possible. If he could not go to a game, he was sure to catch it on TV. His favorite NFL and NBA sports teams were the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls. His second love was chicken wings. If you would ask him what he wanted to eat, he would say, "Wings, wings and more wings!" You could always see Tony rolling down the road in his wheelchair heading to the Wing Stop for a 10-piece meal.
Tony was a Christian man and he had his own special walk with the Lord.
