Anthony Rimshas

Anthony Rimshas, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Danville, Illinois, where he was born on December 27, 1944. He is remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, country, and community.

Anthony served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, embodying a spirit of bravery and dedication. After his military service, he returned to Danville and became a familiar face at Ducks Tavern, where he worked alongside his family. Anthony later served in the Mail Room at Danville VA, a position that reflected his loyalty and service to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anothony Rimshas, his mother, Josephine (Janushewski) Rimshas, his sister, Marj Madison, and his brother, Michael Rimshas. Their memories remain cherished as part of Anthony’s legacy.

Anthony is survived by two nieces, one nephew, eight great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece and nephew, and one great-great nephew on the way. His family will remember him not only for his kindness and generosity but also for the warmth and love he shared throughout his life.

Visitation will take place on September 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center's Urbas Chapel, located at 414 S State St, Westville, IL 61883. A funeral service will immediately follow, starting at 3:00 PM with burial to follow with military rites at Lithuanian Cemetery.
