Anne Marie Gash

Bismarck - Anne Marie Gash, 72, of Bismarck passed away at 11:51 PM on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She had been ill for several weeks. Anne was born June 16, 1945 in Lafayette, IN. She was the daughter of William Jr. and Vivian Louise (Turner) Tweedy of Hoopeston. Anne was a 1963 graduate of Rossville High School where she attended all 12 years. While there, she was involved in business courses and chorus in which her team won state three of her four years. After graduation she attended 2 years of DJC, getting her Associates Degree. She then went to work for Continental Filling in Danville for 5 years. She also worked at the Commercial-News Newspaper for several years. At the same time, she also worked at Lakeview Hospital helping with surgical supplies. She met and married Ray Gash of Westville in 1977. After marriage, she quit her jobs to help him with his exterminating business, Ray's Pest Control. She was also half partner in the business. In later years, they enjoyed traveling and were member of Bismarck United Methodist Church for 40 years. Anne was an accomplished artist, having won awards for her paintings. She is survived by her husband, Ray; sister, Jane Willard of Rossville, IL; niece, Kelly McGee of Sacramento, CA; nephew Chris McGee of Farmville, VA; and step-mother, Carolyn Tweedy of Hoopeston. She was preceded in death by both parents. A service to celebrate the life of Anne Gash will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery at 8295 N. 600 W. Rd. near Ambia, IN. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, June 13, also at Sunset in Danville.
