Anna Spezia, 93, of Danville, died at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Provena U.S.M.C. Logan Campus Anna was born August 29, 1913, in Westville, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Balciunas) Tamauskas Thompson. She married Camille Spezia on October 4, 1932 in Paris, IL. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1998. Anna is survived by a daughter, Donna (Rodney)Prather of Perrysville, Indiana; two sons, Ronald Spezia and John (Nancy) Spezia both of Danville; eight grandchildren, Mike, Todd and Gary Spezia, Darla Knipe, Ronna Schackmann, Lisa Morgan, Jonathan Prather and Rachel Lucking ; 28 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandson. She was preceded by her parents, two brothers, one in infancy and John, 2 sisters, Patronella and Mary, and one daughter "in-law, Karen Spezia. After Camilles retirement he and Anna started the family dairy farm, The Dixie Dairy, in the 60s and also farmed. She was also a member of the Lithuanian Lodge in New York and enjoyed gardening, basketball and family activities. Anna was very devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. A celebration of Annas life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Sunsets Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Father Greg Nelson officiating Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2006 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials in Annas name may be made to the Camille and Anna Spezia Memorial Fund for a Scholarship Program at Danville Area Community College, in care of jspezia@dacc.edu or 217-260-6186.
