Anna Shannon

Anna Shannon, 87, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:03pm, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on December 6, 1931, in Eugene, Indiana, the daughter of James and Sara {Adams} Priest. She was married to Robert Shannon in November of 1952. She is survived by: her son, Kelly (Kimberly) Shannon of Westville; her granddaughter, Nancy (Warren) Mariage of Ridge Farm; her great grandchildren, Cortney Dolph, Robert Spencer Dolph, Alyssa JoAnn Mariage; and her sisters, Mary Hinkle and Shirley Mullins. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Hanburger; her grandson, Harold Dolph; and 14 brothers & sisters. Anna enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, word crosses, and spending time in her yard. She also enjoyed yodeling. She loved her family and cherished time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Annas life will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, located at 200 E West St., with Pastor James Blue officiating. A Memorial Visitation will begin at 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. As per her wishes, she will be accorded cremation rites.
