Anna Lou Wiggins was born Anna Lou Eigenrauch on March 1st, 1944 to Ervin and Caroline Eigenrauch in Marion, Illinois. The younger of two siblings (both girls), she was born into a multigenerational farmer family in Williamson County, Illinois.
Her early life was that of the classic farmer’s daughter; of working the land and animals. She had a love of horses, having one of her own named Lady that she rode, often at breakneck speeds. This need for speed transferred into driving in her teen years..yet somehow never received a ticket.…not even later in life. Not one..much to the amused bafflement of her later husband, William. She graduated High School in Marion, Illinois in 1962, then went to a local secretarial school.
She met her future husband, William C. Wiggins in 1963, and married the following year on August 8th, 1964. She became pregnant with her first child a couple of months after, Nick…and gave birth to him in an Army hospital in Landstuhl, Germany (..having relocated to Germany to be with her husband at his new duty station). Not too long after, her husband went to Vietnam.
On August 20th, 1968, she gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Nisa. It was this same year that both her husband and her gave their lives over to Jesus Christ and started on their mutual paths in service to their Lord and Savior. Their lives together primarily were in the service of the Church; first as laymen, then later pastoral.
Anna was a perfect pastor’s wife and partner to her husband William, and a nurturing and caring mother to her two children, Nick and Nisa.
She is survived by her two children (Nick and Nisa), her grandchildren (Cutler and Gage Wiggins from Nick, Kye and Cami Draper from Nisa), and her great-grandchildren (Killian and Silas from Cutler, Sailor and Scottie from Kye, and Zyair from Cami), as well as her older sister Ida Mae Nuernberger.
Anna Lou Wiggins left this world at 4:10 am on July 1st, 2026. To say she will be missed doesn’t come close to expressing the loss, as well as expressing the enduring love we all harbor in our hearts for such an amazing woman.
