Anna Lorraine Proietti

Danville- Anna Lorraine Proietti, 21 of Salem, Oregon, formerly of Danville, IL, left this world unexpectedly. Anna was born on August 1, 1994 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Gary E. Proietti and Judith Martinek Proietti. Anna is survived by her parents: Gary (Sandra Buchanan) Proietti of Mentone, IN and Judith Proietti of Peoria, IL, two brothers; Jon (Sarah) Proietti of Danville, IL and Joseph (Sarah) Proietti of Huntington, IN, two sisters; Nina Proietti of Roscoe, IL and Maria (Troy) Steinsdoerfer of Oakwood, IL, her paternal grandfather; Edmond Proietti of Winchester, VA, seven nephews; Ryan, Brady, Will, Max, Gabe, Ethan, and Isaiah, and six nieces; Abby, Sophie, Autumn, Isabella, Lillian and Ariel, a large extended family and many friends. Anna is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother. Anna was a brilliant musician, playing a variety of instruments, above all the flute. She had a passion for learning. While living in Danville, IL, she attended Edison Elementary and North Ridge Middle schools. As a young girl at Edison Elementary, she became an aspiring archaeologist where she found many "ancient artifacts" on the playgrounds. While attending Fountain Central High School, Anna volunteered with programs that assisted senior citizens, which she enjoyed participating in immensely. She graduated from Fountain Central in 2012 and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Anna was also an aficionado of "tasty" Italian foods, a lover of cats and an avid "gamer". She was fortunate to travel in Italy where she saw ancient ruins in person. Anna is very loved by all her family and will be missed dearly for her gentle spirit, loving and tender heart. A Celebration of Anna's Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Raymie Gordon. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Danville, IL.
