WESTVILLE- Ann Markevich, 96 of Westville, passed away at 4:23pm on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. Mrs. Markevich was born Westville on September 24, 1910, the daughter of Anthony and Ann (Melcosky) Gastent. On June 24, 1933, Ann married Mr. Frank Markevich in Westville. He preceded her in death in 1987. Surviving Ann include: her three children, Frank (Beverly) Markevich of Michigan, Ron (Dianna) Markevich of Alabama, and Patricia Ann (Ervin) Knight of Westville, IL; her nine grandchildren, Frank Markevich, Steven (Lisa) Markevich, Michelle Markevich, Michael (Lori) Markevich, Paula (Doug) Neild, Bradley (Beth) Knight, Lisa (Don) Witherspoon, Rebecca Knight, and Suzanne (Matt) Loftin; her 16 great-grandchildren, Amanda Sue Markevich, Jay Markevich, Lauran Markevich, Colton Markevich, Keely Markevich, Cason Markevich, Ethan Neild, Courtney Neild, B.J. Knight, Ashley Witherspoon, Chad Witherspoon, Amanda Ann Miller, J.D. Miller, Maguire Knight, Zachary Loftin, & Hailie Loftin; her two step-grandchildren, Loren and Casey Morhman; her sister, Marcella Domilino of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Carol. Her parents, four brothers and a sister preceded Ann in death. Ann was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville, the Rosary Society, the Sacred Heart Society, and the Padre Piel Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and being with her grandchildren. A Catholic Mass Celebration for Ann Markevich is scheduled for 2:00pm on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Final resting place will be at St. Peter and Pauls Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will take place between 4-8pm on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Home located at 414 S. State St. in Westville. A reciting of the Rosary will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home. The public is welcome to attend. Memorial donations may be made in Ann name to the St. Marys Catholic Church and/or School
