Anita Spicer, 90, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Westville, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Mustang Creek Estates in Texas. She was born October 24, 1925, in Danville, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Fuenta) Perez. Anita married Donald E. Spicer on July 16, 1951 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2006. Surviving are her son, Robert (Janice) Chiaffredo of Gainesville, GA; daughters, Paula See of Naples, FL and Donna (Jeff) Ratkowski of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Tony (Mary) Chiaffredo and Paul (Elizabeth) Chiaffredo of Sandy Springs, GA, Lisa Koonce of Bolingbrook, Angela (Stephen) Gadlage of Rochester Hills, MI, Ryan (Rebecca) Ratkowski of Plano, TX, and Kristina (Darren) Havemann of Spring, TX; great-grandchildren, Allison and Dominic Gadlage, Joseph and Leila Chiaffredo, Robert, and Vincent Chiaffredo, Luke, Tucker, and Zoey Ratkowski, and Katelyn and Dylan Havemann; as well as many other relatives, friends, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and brother, Joseph (Bernice) Perez, Jr. Anita worked in the cafeteria at Westville Schools for 22 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville, the Altar and Rosary Society, and The American Legion Post #51 Women's Auxiliary. Anita liked to crochet, do various crafts, and was very creative. Above all Anita loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an important part in all their lives and will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville. Fr. Timothy Sauppe will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 30, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Rosary will be held prior to visitation Friday starting at 3:30 PM. Memorials in Anita's name can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westville American Legion Post #51 Women's Auxiliary, or the Alzheimer's Association.
