Fairmount- Anita K. Jordan, 71, of Fairmount, IL passed away at 6:38 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on January 31, 1942 in Fairmount to Harry and Lelia Baker Smith. She married Robert J. Ferry who preceded her in death. She later married Cecil "Wes" Jordan who also preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Brad (Trish) Phelps of Fairmount, formerly of San Diego, CA, Cheryl Phelps of Danville, and Roger (Susie) McNeese of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Teddy (Lila) Smith of WI, and Billy Smith of St. Joseph; four sisters, Sonya (Dean)Woodard of Fairmount, Doris McNeese, also of Fairmount, Mary Jane (Gary) Zindars of Potomac, and Pam Krabbel of Hume; five grandchildren, Amber (Erik Palmer) Phelps of San Diego, CA, Amanda Phelps of Springfield, IL, Dustin Phelps of Fairmount, Vannessa Pacheco of San Diego, CA, and Travis "T.C." McNeese of Champaign; and a great granddaughter, Angelina Aganowski. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Norman and Ronnie Smith. Anita was an avid gardener and loved to feed and watch her hummingbirds. She could also be found sipping chai tea while she shopped from home on QVC. In the past she had enjoyed square dancing and playing tennis. Anita especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and always looked forward to her dinners with her daughter and granddaughter, Amanda at the Possum Trot. She will be dearly missed by all her family. A service to celebrate the life of Anita Jordan will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Chris Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 12, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to the CARA no kill animal shelter in Tilton, IL.
