Anita Lois Barnes, 80, of Danville passed away at 9:14 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home. Born September 21, 1926 in Danville, she was the eldest daughter of Willard Warren and L. Coryn (Wertsbaugh) Houston. She graduated from Danville High School in 1944, and retired from Tee-Pak, Inc., in 1988 after a 29 year career as a secretary and administrative assistant. She was instrumental in the founding of the Tee-Pak Credit Union and served as Chairman of the Board for many years. Anita was a member and past president of the Piankeshaw Chapter, National Secretaries Association, and attained the Certified Professional Secretaries rating in 1972. She was also active on the Tee-Pak Bowling League for several years. Anita was married to William B. Barnes on June 29, 1947 in Danville, Illinois. He survives. Also surviving are three children William (Victoria) of Westville, Suellen (Paul) Millikin of Danville, and Brian (Penny) of Tolono, along with seven grandchildren, Cheri Millikin of Cincinnati, OH, Jon Millikin of Sunny Isles, FL, Laurie (Steve) Rolinitis of Morton, Ashley and Troy Barnes of Westville, Brian and Amy Barnes of Tolono, and three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tyler, and Kylie Rolinitis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, one son, and one grandson. Anitas interests included gardening, reading, and her family.
