Cayuga, Ind. -- Anabeth Jenkins Lallish, 86, a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville, Illinois and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 7:50 a.m. CDT Thursday(July 5, 2007) at Colonial Manor. She was born December 10, 1920 in Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of the late L. Paul and Gladys Coffin Thomas. She first married Horace J. Jenkins. She later married Robert A. Lallish on July 19, 1977 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1990. Survivors include: one daughter, Janet(Robert L.)Martin of Georgetown, Illinois; two sons, William(Heather Cunningham)Jenkins of Danville, Illinois and Gregory(Dana)Jenkins of Carmel, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jeffery James, Brian(Tammey)James, Ryan Jenkins, Evan Jenkins, Crystal Jenkins and Thomas Jenkins; four great grandchildren; cousin, Kenneth(Claudia)Wiggins of Speedway, Indiana; sister in law, Patricia(Lowell)Cutsinger of Arthur, Illinois Anabeth retired from the V.A. Hospital in Danville in 1985. She was previously employed at Danville Care and Colonial Manor Nursing Homes both in Danville. She attended the Cayuga, Indiana elementary schools until her family moved to LaPorte, Indiana where she attended and graduated from high school. Anabeth enrolled in nurses training at Presbyterian St. Luke's in Chicago, Illinos attending one year before transfering to the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Danville where she received her nursing diploma. Anabeth was very proud of her vocation and cared deeply for those whose care depended upon her. She was a 50 year member of the Perrysville Chapter Order of Eastern Star, 40 plus year member of the Governor Bradford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Rainbow Post #263, St. Elizabeth Nurses' Alumnae Association, Office volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church in Danville, Illinois and a past member of the American Federation of Government Employees(AFGE #1963). Anabeth was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church beginning in Cayuga, Indiana and later at the First Presbyterian Church in Danville, Illinois. Her faith was always very important to her and her belief in morale character and "Doing the right thing" always led her in life. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Monday, July 9, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Dr. Jimmy Hopper and Dr. Katie Hopper; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. EDT Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the funeral home.
