Amy Lynn Noble, 59, of Covington, Indiana passed away on April 18, 2009 at Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana after a courageous battle with cancer. Amy was born August 7, 1949 in Danville, IL, daughter of Richard and Betty Rush Carpenter. She married Daniel W. Noble on March 9, 1968 at the First Baptist Church in Covington. He survives along with two children: Kelly Noble (and partner Nadine) of Denver, CO and Dan Noble Jr. (and wife Jamie) of Covington, IN; her very special & loving sister Cathy Myers of Navarre, FL; brothers Cary Woolsey of Tyler, TX and Scott Vest of Lafayette, IN; and her two beloved grandchildren, Chase & Reese Noble. Amy was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her third grandchild, who is expected in May. Her mother preceded her in death. Amy was a 67 graduate of Seeger Memorial High School, where she was active in band, the Latin Club, and the Honor Society. She realized a long-time dream in the early 90s when she returned to school to obtain her college degree. She studied computer programming at DACC and graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1993. Amy worked for 20+ years at the Old National Bank (formerly BWI), then worked for other local banks, including Ogden National Bank and Veedersburg State Bank. She enjoyed gardening (especially tending to her rose garden), cooking, baking, canning, sewing, bowling, and playing cards, with a particular knack for euchre & pinochle. She was especially famous for her pies and theme cakes, including a number of special cakes for her kids and grandkids. Amy was an avid reader and donated countless books to the Covington Library for others to enjoy. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and attending her grandchildrens sporting events. Amy belonged to the Troy Chapter #145 Order of the Eastern Star for several years and held many offices, including Worthy Matron for 2008-2009. In 2009, she was appointed as Grand Representative for the State of Massachusetts for the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her husband at functions sponsored by the various Masonic and Scottish Rite fraternities. Amy put her sewing skills to work and created costumes, uniforms and other items for the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. A Celebration of Amys Life will be held at 11:00 am EST, Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Sunsets Covington Chapel, 420 3rd Street, Covington, IN, with Pastor George Weister officiating.
