Amy J. Boen

Amy J. (Roe) Boen ,88, of Alvin, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, December 13, 2021. Amy was born May 5,1933 in Rossville, IL the daughter of Flossie Ivy Roe.

Amy is survived by daughter, Christina Boen; grandsons Stephen R. (Heather) Boen, Chris (Kristin) Boen; and great granddaughter, Hadley Rae Boen, who was the apple of her eye.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray Boen, in 2010; son, Stephen B. Boen (2020) and daughter-in-law Tammy L. Boen (2019).

Amy initially retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company then later retired from Walmart where she worked as a greeter and cashier. Amy loved her lord, her family, her church family, and loved visiting with people when able. She participated in running the family farm and enjoyed taking her grandsons on church outings, including summers at Cast Bay Camp.

The family of Amy Boen would like to Thank all of you who sent cards, visited, and delivered care packages during her time of being homebound which she appreciated very much.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Quick. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Alvin. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church.
