Amanda Edgington

Amanda Edgington, 50, of Danville, IL went to be with her Savior at 3:15 PM on June 15, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was surrounded by her family and friends as she walked into the arms of her Father.

Amanda was born on September 3, 1974 the only child of Thomas and LouAnn (Mitchell) Gibson in Danville, IL. She was formerly married to Chad Edgington and remained friends until her passing.

Survivors include her daughter, Olivia (TJ) Alexander of Danville, IL and her parents, Thomas and LouAnn Gibson of Danville, IL.

Amanda is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Amanda graduated from First Baptist in Danville, IL. She was a member of Calvary Baptist in Tilton, IL where she served in the nursery and kids ministry for many years. Amanda was a hard and diligent worker. Amanda always knew she wanted to stay home and take care of her daughter, but she also wanted to be a financial provider. She found a job as a claims analyst for Health Alliance that allowed her to do just that. Amanda had a heart of gold and always wanted to bless others. She used her passion for baking to serve those around her. She was especially known for her Dutch apple pies and pumpkin rolls. Amanda loved to be with her friends, whether she met them for dinner or went for a walk. She was adored by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1632 Georgetown Road, Tilton, IL 61833. Pastor Dan Kitinoja and Pastor Joe Humrichous will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 5-7:00 PM at the church.
