Alva Al Bunk Lowell Pollock, 58, of Danville, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Alva was born on November 21, 1946 in Danville, the son of Donald Darius and Thelma (Musson) Pollock. He married Eudolphia Dolly Sibbing on August 19, 1967 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Danville. She survives. He is survived by two sons- Jason Lee Pollock and John Wayne Pollock both of Danville; two daughters- Jeri Ann (Danny) OBanion of Bloomington and Joni (Tony Lequire) Pollock of Danville; four brothers- William Bill(Flossie) Pollock of New Mexico, Robert Jim (Martha) Pollock of Tilton, Harold Butch (Rosie) Pollock of Veedersburg, Indiana, Walter Mick Pollock of Georgetown, Illinois; one sister- Helen Brown of Danville; one brother-in-law- Marcellus Shorty (Shelly) Sibbing of Brownsburg, Indiana; seven grandchildren- Scott Ross of Danville, Justice Tre JT Pollock of Bloomington, Illinois, Dominic OBanion of Bloomington, Illinois, Ashlyn OBanion of Bloomington, Illinois, Justin Pollock of Danville, Faith Ann Ross of Danville, and Miranda Lequire of Danville; several nieces and nephews; special friends- Penny and Jeff Sands of Oakwood, Mary Wheeler of Danville, Sandy Heffern of Oakwood, Dustin Heckerson of Potomac, Bob Morris of Danville, Sharon Wheeler of Danville, and many other special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers- Donald Pollock, Edward Pollock, Wendel Pollock; one sister- Loretta Lapenas; and one very special friend- Mick Heffern. Alva attended the Diamond and Oakwood schools. He retired in 2002 from Danville Metal Stamping after working there for 32 years. He enjoyed metal detecting, walking in the woods, drinking coffee with all of his soul mates at Steak and Shake, working and playing bingo at Holy Family Church, and also helping his wife Dolly with the Buckle Up Kids for Safety Program. He was a prior Cub Scout Pack leader at Diamond Grade School. He was also an adult Girl Scout member and caretaker of Camp Treefoil until his illness. He was a board member of Holy Family School Bingo. A celebration of the life of Alva AL Bunk Lowell Pollock will be at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Monday, November 21, 2005, with Father Ted Pracz officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Holy Family School or to the Vermilion County Red, White, and Blue Child Passenger Safety Program.
