Alonzo Franklin "Lonnie" Lamb

Kingman, Ind. - Alonzo Franklin "Lonnie" Lamb, 79, of Kingman, went home to our Lord at 1:40 a.m. EDT Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1934, the son of the late Jesse Harrison and Vera Elizabeth (Hutts) Lamb. He married Mary Anna Shoemaker of Covington, Indiana on October 7, 1952 in Cayuga, Indiana and they had 48 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2000. Lonnie is now back in her arms where he belongs. Survivors to cherish his memory are three sons, Jesse Franklin (Kathryn) Lamb of Stringtown, Indiana; Ronald Wayne Lamb of Covington, Indianan and Arnold Paul Lamb of Florida; three daughters, Deborah LaVerne Lave and Cynthia Marie Walsh both of Covington, Indiana and Delilah Jean (Dennis) Crabtree of Cayuga, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and one beloved sister, Marvis Loveall of Tangier, Indiana. He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Lonnie retired from General Motors in Tilton, Illinois in 1989. He wa a member of the U.A.W. and N.R.A. Lonnie has many friends and never knew a stranger. He will be missed by all that knew him. He enjoyed watching old western movies. He also loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, mushrooming, gardening and he had a love for watching and feeding all varieties of wildlife at home. A celebration of Lonnie's life will be held at 4 p.m. EDT Thursday, June 6, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Clarence Debow; Burial: Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 1 to 4 p.m. EDT Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the funeral home. The family ask that all who wish to come and share their stories with each other are welcome to do so. Dad asks to remember this is a celebration of life, not a passing of life. GOD BLESS.
