Cayuga, Ind -- Alma C. Rose Baird, 81, of Cayuga passed away at 4:15 am, Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Waters of Covington, where she had been a resident for the past three months. She was born July 28, 1925 in Knox County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Thomas Roy and Captola Brittian Disney. Alma first married Earl L. Rose on November 27, 1948. Earl passed away February 11, 1975. She then married Lewis E. Baird on November 14, 1976. Lewis passed away August 17, 1996. She is also preceded in death by a son, a stepson and members of the Riley family. She is survived by two sons, a daughter-in-law, two step daughters, two grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, a sister, a special friend and members of the Riley family. Alma was a 1947 graduate of Scottsburg High School. She was a member of the Cayuga Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, hooking rugs, traveling and working with flowers. Alma also enjoyed life, being with her friends and most of all her family. Services: 10 am EST, Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Cayuga Christian Church. Officiating: Revs. Andy Spencer and Steve Vitaniemi Burial: Hudson Hill Cemetery near Spencer, Indiana Visitation: 4 to 8 pm EST, Wednesday (November 1) at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga. Visitation also Thursday after 9 am until the hour of service at the Cayuga Christian Church. Memorial donation can be made in Alma's name to the American Heart Association, MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES LOCKBOX, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, 911 East 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
