Allen 'Russ' R. Long

Allen "Russ" R. Long, 78, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away at 4:50pm, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, Lafayette, Indiana. He was born the son of Russell and Mamie {Wilkerson} Long on February 3, 1941, in Georgetown, IL. He was married to Liz Rush in November of 1964.

He is survived by: his daughter, Tami {Bruce Tolbert) Blankenship of Covington, IN; his son, Doug (LeAnn Bowling) Long of Veedersburg, IN; his brothers, Don Long of Danville & Chuck Long of Florida; his sisters, Ruthie (Don) Martin of Colorado & Edith Meithe of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Bryttney, Douglas, Lacy, Matthew, Meagan, Devin, Danel, Alan, Gage, his great grandchildren, Mayson, Kayleigh, Maddox, & Elijah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jeff, two brothers, Bill & Jim, and his sister, Rose.

Russ had worked for Dicks Auto Body Shop in Marshfield, IN for 30 plus years. He loved to go fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He enjoyed metal detecting and was known to love "chilling & grilling". Above all, Russ loved his family and cherished spending time with them, especially his grandkids.

As per his wishes, Russ will be accorded cremation rites and there will be no services at this time.
