Allen R. Butch Shoaf, 71, of Williamsport, IN, passed this Life on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 9:20am at his residence. Butch, the seventh of eight siblings, was born on October 6, 1938, the son of James and Helen (Adams) Shoaf. On November 29, 1958, Butch married Ms. Dolores Crowell. She survives along with their three children, Michael (LeeAnn) Shoaf of Lafattye, IN, Tracey (Brian) Mulcahey of North Liberty, IA, and Jill Shoaf (Aaron DeAnda) of Williamsport, IN. Also surviving Butch are his three grandchildren, Ashlyn (nickname Snickelfritz) Mulcahey, Ryleigh (nickname talhola) Mulcahey, and Gracyn (nickname Knucklehead) Shoaf. His four step grandchildren, Philip, Jessica, Christopher, and Matthew, a brother, Curtiss (Darlene) Shoaf of Rockhill, S.C., and a sister, Carolyn Farrar of Covington, IN A special niece, Mary Jody (Richard) Adams of Covington, four special nephews, Jackie Joe (Bonnie) of Lafayette, Jerry (Cheryl) Shoaf Jr. of Williamsport, Wade (Mary) Adams of Danville, and Linc (Paige) Adams of Lake Worth, FL, and is his four sisters in law, Joyce Adams Hoffman, Betty Sanders, Jeanine Shoaf, and Evelyn Shoaf also survive him. His parents precede Butch in death. Butch was a 1956 Attica High School graduate, and a United States Army Veteran serving at Fort Benning GA. in the Military Police Division. After being Honorable discharged, Butch worked at the Harrison Steel Casting Company from October 1956, until March 1965. Butch then graduated from Danville Area Community College with honors in 1973, employed with the General Motors Tilton Foundry, working as a painter, and later, a Union Benefits Rep until September 1995. He worked one year at Delphi Electronics in Kokomo, IN, retiring in October 1996 after 38 years of service. He was a five time delegate to the 579 U.A.W. National Convention. He was a member of the Covington American Legion Post 291, serving as Past Commander. Butch was also instrumental with Ralph (Sherry) Shamp in starting the 4-H Shooting Sport for Warren County Indiana.He was very active with the West Lebanon Little League as President and coach. He was elected as Steuben Township Trustee. Butch will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Life for Allen Butch Shoaf is scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to take place at Sunset Memorial Park with full military honors. Mr. Drew Mentzer will officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Butchs name to the American Cancer Society.
