Allan G. Stewart

Allan G. Stewart, 82, of Oakwood passed away Friday, January 02, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Allan was born January 13, 1932 in Danville, the son of John and Isabella (Gray) Stewart. He married Martha E. Hardy on July 20, 1951. She will miss him dearly along with his three sons, Mark A. (Susie) Stewart of Moyock, N.C., Timothy J. (Terri) Stewart Sr of Oakwood and John W. Stewart of Sullivan, Il, also a daughter Mary K. (Tom) Sparling of Topeka, Kansas. Also his grandchildren, Abby Stewart, TJ (Heidi) Stewart Sr, John Ryan(Rachel) Stewart, Elissa Stewart, Blake Stewart, Brandon, Dalton and Bryson Sparling, Christopher Fox and Will Fox, seven great-grandchildren. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jack, a daughter Cynthia Jo Fox, two grandchildren, Kimberly Stewart Hagan and Mathew Fox. Allan worked as a precision carpet installer most of his life and also drove a truck for ten years as well. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed living in the country. His hobbies were Organic gardening, fishing and playing the guitar. Allen obtained his GED when he was 65 years old which was important to him. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. A celebration of life funeral service for Allan Stewart will be at 2:00pm Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel in Oakwood. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dave Garver. Visitation for family and friends will be 12 noon till the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations can be given to Rileys Childrens Hospital.
