Alice Rose Maloney, 92, of Danville passed away on September 12, 2015 at Liberty Village's Hawthorne Inn of Danville. Alice was born July 21, 1923 in Danville, the daughter of James and June Emery. On May 9th, 1943 she married William O. Coe, he preceded her in death in 1944. She married Edward M. Maloney on July 3, 1948, he preceded her in death on June 29, 1995. Surviving Alice are her sons; Tom (Carol) Coe of Danville, Jim (Janet) Maloney of Zionsville, IN and John (Ginny) Maloney of Elgin; her beloved grandchildren, Tami Coe of Indianapolis, IN, Brian (Minda) Coe of Fairfax, VA, Jessica (Alex) Stokey of Zionsville, IN, Kate Maloney of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Maloney of Elgin, Laura Maloney of Carver, MA and Daniel Maloney of Framingham, MA; her great grandchildren, Brannen and Ellie Coe and James and Libby Stokely; her sister Emily (Ray) Hackney of St. Petersburg Beach, FL and her brother Art (Lavanne) Emery of Tyler, TX. Alice was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone Company and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after many years in sales. She was a long time member of First Church of Christ and later a member of CrossRoads Christian Church. Alice was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior. She was a member of the Roselawn Garden Club and the Sears Retirees. She volunteered at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her rose garden. For the past four years, she has resided in Garden Court at Hawthorne Inn where she was cared for by many wonderful and loving people. A service to celebrate the life of Alice will begin at 1:00 PM. Wednesday September 16th, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home of Danville with Pastor Robbie Ketcherside officiating. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM. two hours prior to her Homecoming Celebration. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Alice's name to Alzheimer's Foundation.
