Alice G. Nicholson, 84, of Carlinville, IL, formerly of Catlin, IL, passed away at 6:44pm on Saturday, May 30, 2009 the Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, IL. She was born on September 20, 1924, in Kentland, IN, the daughter of Bennet and Bertha Clark. On September 22, 1942, Alice married Mr. Keith D. Nicholson. He survives along with their son, Richard (Carolyn) Nicholson, a son-in-law, Greg Moore, three grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Moore, Rachel (Aaron) Watson, Ryan (Katie) Moore, a granddaughter-in-law, Autumn Nicholson, and two great-grandchildren, Aubren and Otis Watson. Her parents, six brothers, her daughter, Shirley Kay Moore, and her grandson, Marcus D. Nicholson preceded Alice in death. Mrs. Nicholson was a graduate of Remington, Indiana High School. She was an original Rosy the Riveter during WWII, and later retired from General Electric. She was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for many years. She belonged to several womens groups and was artistic and enjoyed painting, quilting, and other numerous crafts. A Celebration of Alice Nicholsons Life will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be from 5p-8p on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
