Alice Marie Cornwell

Alice Marie Cornwell, 71, of Wausau, WI, formerly of Vermilion Grove, IL, passed away at 9:00am, Friday, March 14th, 2008, at St. Clares Hospital in Wausau, WI. She was born the daughter of Carl and Louise (Patten) Mills on June 5th, 1936, in Vermilion Grove, IL. She was united in marriage to George Cornwell on August 23rd, 1952, in Vermilion Grove until his passing on October 19th, 2005. She will be dearly missed by: her son, Dan (Lois) Cornwell of Orange, TX; her daughter, Melody (Mark) Klink of Wausau, WI; her grandchildren, Ali (Brad) Brakhane of Jackson, MO, Jacob (Brandi) Klink of Chenoa, IL, Megan Cornwell of Austin, TX, Sarah Cornwell of Austin, TX, & Heidi Cornwell of Decatur, IL; her great grandchildren, Molly, Libby, & Mark Brakhane, all of Jackson, MO, Perry, Abrie, Edie, & Kenzie Klink, all of Chenoa, IL, and Tiara Cornwell of Decatur, IL; and her two sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Binkley of Vermilion Grove, IL, and Pearle (Dave) Jeffries of Fairbury, IL. She was preceded in death by: her parents and her son, Mike Cornwell. Alice was a life-long member of the Vermilion Grove Friends Church. She was also a member of the Illinois Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, and the National Education Association (NEA). In her spare time, she enjoyed bird-watching and quilting. Alice really liked traveling and visiting foreign places. She loved music and dancing, as well as being the organist for Vermilion Grove Friends Church. A celebration of Alices life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, March 20th, 2008, at Vermilion Grove Friends Meeting. Max Rees will officiate the service. A gathering of family and friends will be from 9am to 11am also at the Church before the service. She will be laid to rest in Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home of Georgetown in charge of arrangements. Memorial Donations may be made in Alices name to the Illinois Audubon Society.
