Alice Faye {Lesko} Gibson

Alice Faye {Lesko} Gibson, 80, passed away on August 11, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born on September 24, 1944, in Danville, Illinois to the late Andrew and Jennie {Stasavich} Lesko.

Alice attended Schlarmann High School and graduated alongside the class of 1962. She would later build a successful career as a claims adjustor for Berbaum Insurance Company, a role she approached with diligence and professionalism. Following her tenure there, she retired from Hyster, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

A proud member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville, Alice was known for her faith and the quiet strength she exuded. She had a myriad of interests that reflected her vibrant personality. Passionate about researching her family's genealogy, she spent countless hours on her computer uncovering the histories that connected her to past generations, among other various research topics that interested her. Watching sports on television brought her great joy, as did shopping. One of her most cherished pastimes was talking on the phone with her friends.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Gibson and her sister Judy Landers.

Alice is survived by her stepdaughter, Sharon Maguire; step-grandson, Logan Maguire; and her siblings, Mary Beth (Luis) Rohrbach and Larry (Carlos Pineroa) Lesko. She also leaves behind her nephews, Jeffrey Landers, David Landers, Brian Rohrbach, and Darin Rohrbach; as well as several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Private services will be held for Alice’s family prior to being laid to rest next to Bob at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Westville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Urbas Chapel, located at 414 S. State Street in Westville assisted her family with arrangements.
